Compressed air is the utility a plant makes for itself. When the compressor is undersized or worn out, every air tool, cylinder and spray gun on the floor slows down with it, and over its working life the electricity to run a compressor costs more than the machine did. Financing replaces it on a monthly payment instead of a capital request.

The energy saving helps make the payment
Over its working life the electricity to run a compressor costs more than the compressor did. A new variable speed machine sized to the plant's real demand uses less power than the worn fixed speed unit it replaces, and a fixed monthly payment over three to five years is often met in part by the lower electric bill.

Replace it before it stops the plant
A compressor rarely fails at a convenient time, and a rental unit on the dock is the expensive way to keep running. Financing lets a plant replace an aging machine on its own schedule and keep the old one as a backup, without waiting for a capital budget.

Compressor, dryer, piping and installation together
The dryer, the receiver, the piping and the installation labor can go on the same agreement as the compressor. The system is Section 179 property. Buy on a $1 buyout lease or an equipment finance agreement and it can be expensed in the year it goes into service, subject to your own tax position and your CPA's advice.

Questions plant managers ask before financing an air compressor
Can I finance an industrial air compressor?
Yes. Air compressor financing from American Capital Group covers Ingersoll Rand, Atlas Copco, Kaeser, Sullair, Quincy and Gardner Denver rotary screw compressors, oil-free and reciprocating units, towable diesel compressors, dryers, receivers and piping, new or used, for manufacturers, machine and body shops, food and beverage plants, contractors and rental fleets. Most systems are approved on an application alone, with no financial statements up to $150,000, and larger plant air systems are quoted on a short financial package.
How much does it cost to lease an air compressor?
The payment depends on the compressor, its age, the term and the end of term option you choose. A used towable on a three year lease is a very different agreement from a new variable speed rotary screw system with a dryer and piping over five years, so send the distributor's quote through the form on this page and we return real numbers, usually the same business day. Financing starts at $10,000 of equipment.
Can installation and piping be included in the financing?
Yes. Delivery, rigging, electrical work, piping and start-up can be financed with the compressor on one agreement, so the monthly payment covers the working system rather than only the machine. We pay the distributor and the installer directly.
Can I finance a used or remanufactured air compressor?
Yes. Used and remanufactured compressors from a distributor, a dealer or an auction qualify, subject to age, hours and condition. We pay the seller directly once the agreement is signed.
