TIMELINE
From application to equipment.
Most of the delay in equipment financing is not underwriting. The decision is the fast part. Here is the actual order of events, from application to delivery, and where the time actually goes.
IN ORDER
What happens, and when
The times below are what usually happens, not a guarantee. A clean transaction on a common machine moves faster than an unusual one, and always has.
01 — MINUTES
You ask for a quote, or you apply
Application in minutes. We do a soft pull on credit, so no inquiry adversely affects your scores. It can be done on a mobile phone or a computer, securely through our own server.
02 — WITHIN HOURS
A decision comes back
On the Application Only program a decision usually comes back within hours, not days. Larger transactions that need a fuller financial package take longer to assemble, which is the part that adds the days, not the decision itself.
03 — SAME DAY
A specialist contacts you with a structure
Not a rate sheet — a structure: the term, the shape of the schedule, and what happens at the end. This is the conversation where a seasonal or deferred schedule gets built in, so say so here rather than afterwards.
04 — SAME DAY OR NEXT
Documents are issued and signed
90% of our documents are signed electronically, which is what keeps funding moving. The agreement sets out the term, the payment, the end-of-term option and the upfront payment structure you opt for.
05 — ON RECEIPT
We buy the equipment and pay your vendor
We work directly with your vendor on invoicing, securing payment instructions, correct titling if it is a vehicle, and verifying the taxes are correct.
06 — VENDOR'S LEAD TIME
The equipment is delivered
This is the step we do not control and the one that most often sets the real date. Ask the vendor for a lead time before you ask us for a timeline — on a machine that is on the floor, the whole thing can be days.
The single fastest transaction is a common machine, from a vendor with stock, on the one-page program, from a business that had its equipment list ready when it applied.
READY
What to have to hand
None of this is hard to find. All of it, found in advance, removes a day.
The business name and address as registered
Exactly as it appears on your filings, not the trading name on the sign, if the two are different.
The ownership breakdown
Who owns what share. On a closely held company the owners' details are part of the picture.
What the equipment is and what it costs
A general list and a cost is enough to start. A vendor quote or invoice, if you have one, is better — it is what we ultimately pay against.
WHAT SLOWS IT
Where the days actually go
The vendor's lead time
Far and away the most common answer. Financing can be done in a day on a machine with a fourteen-week build slot, and the machine still arrives in fourteen weeks.
A fuller financial package
Above $150,000, or where the short form does not fit, statements and returns have to be assembled. That is document-gathering time, not underwriting time.
A detail that does not match
A business name spelled differently from the filing, an address that has moved, an ownership split that changed last year. Small things, each worth a day.
Waiting on a signature
More than one owner, more than one calendar. Know who has to sign before the documents are issued.
A vendor we have not paid before
We verify every vendor. One that is not already in our system is checked before funds are released — pay history with other funders, and confirmation that there is a real physical location behind the name, not just a website. It is one step, done once, and it is faster if their invoice arrives with the application.
Deciding the structure late
Changing the term or the ending after documents are issued means new documents. Have the conversation on the first call.
THE FAST PATH
If you need the equipment as soon as possible
Call (949) 271-5800 and say so on the first call. A specialist can tell you within the conversation whether the transaction fits the one-page program, and if it does, whether the timeline you need is real.
If the equipment is on a vendor's floor and the business has been trading three years or more, this is a short week rather than a long one. If it is a build-to-order machine, the honest answer is that the financing will be waiting on the equipment rather than the other way round.
QUESTIONS
Timing, asked plainly
How long does equipment financing take?
On the one-page Application Only program a decision usually comes back the same day, and a specialist contacts you within about 24 hours with a structure. Documents follow, and we pay your vendor directly on receipt. After that the schedule belongs to the vendor's lead time.
How fast can I get approved for an equipment lease?
Usually the same day on Application Only. Transactions that need a fuller financial package take longer, and the time goes into assembling documents rather than into the decision.
What do I need to apply for equipment financing?
The business name and address, the ownership breakdown, and a general list of the equipment and what it costs. On Application Only that is the whole of it — no financial statements at all.
What is the slowest part of the process?
The vendor's lead time, in most cases. Financing can be finished in days on a machine with a three-month build slot, and the machine still takes three months.
Do I have to come in, or can it be done remotely?
It is done entirely online — nothing to come in for. You can apply on this site or ask for a quote using the form on this page, from a phone or a computer. If you have questions along the way, call (949) 271-5800 and a specialist will answer them.
When is the first payment due?
That depends on the upfront payment structure you opt for at signing. After that the schedule follows the structure you agreed — and there is a 90-day deferred program if you want the equipment earning before the first regular payment.
How quickly do you pay the vendor?
We buy the equipment and pay the vendor directly once the documents are complete. Once funding documents are received, the wire usually goes out the same day. We even verbally verify wire instructions to help prevent vendor fraud.
Can I start before I have chosen a vendor?
Yes. A general description of the equipment and a rough cost is enough for a quote, and plenty of businesses line up the financing before they finish shopping. The invoice can follow.
