A femtosecond laser without the phaco platform beside it is half a procedure. One lease covers the laser, the phaco system, the microscope and the planning OCT, so the surgical day is complete from the first case and one payment covers the room.

Refresh on the manufacturer's cycle
Alcon, J and J, Zeiss and Bausch replace surgical platforms every few years, and the newest fluidics or laser is what the referring optometrist asks about. A fair market value lease lets you return the platform at the end of the term and step into the next generation without selling the old one first.

Deduct the equipment in the year it is installed
Phaco systems, lasers and microscopes are Section 179 property. Buy on a $1 buyout lease or an equipment finance agreement and the whole suite can be expensed in the year it goes into service, subject to your own tax position and your CPA's advice.

Can I finance a femtosecond laser or a phaco machine for cataract surgery?
Yes. Most purchases are approved on an application alone, with no financial statements up to $150,000, and larger surgical suites are quoted on a short financial package.
How much does it cost to lease an excimer laser or a LASIK suite?
The payment depends on the platform, the term and the end of term option you choose. A refurbished phaco system on a three year lease is a very different agreement from a new femtosecond and excimer pair on seven years, so send the manufacturer's quote through the form on this page and we return real numbers, usually the same business day.
Can I lease refurbished ophthalmic surgical equipment?
Yes. Refurbished phaco platforms, lasers and surgical microscopes from the manufacturer or a certified reseller qualify, and for a second operating room or a new ASC they are often the sensible buy. We pay the seller directly once the equipment is inspected and the agreement is signed.
Can a new eye surgery centre finance equipment before it opens?
Yes. A surgeon leaving a group to open a practice or an ASC under construction can finance the surgical suite against the physician's credit and the projected case volume. We fund new medical practices regularly and can time the first payment to the certificate of occupancy when the installation is scheduled ahead of it.
