COMMERCIAL ICE MACHINES

Commercial ice machine leasing and financing

Ice is the one product every bar, restaurant, hotel and hospital makes on site, and the machine that makes it runs twenty-four hours a day. When it fails in July the replacement cannot wait for next quarter's budget. Leasing puts a new ice machine on the floor in days and turns the purchase into a fixed monthly payment.

What we finance

New or used, from any vendor, dealer or auction. Named manufacturers are examples of what this covers, not a limit — if what you need is not on this list, ask.

  • Modular cube ice machines — Hoshizaki KM series, Manitowoc Indigo NXT, Scotsman Prodigy Elite
  • Nugget and chewable ice makers — Hoshizaki DCM, Scotsman Meridian, Manitowoc RNS
  • Flake ice machines for seafood, produce and healthcare
  • Undercounter ice makers — Manitowoc NEO, Hoshizaki KM-80, Ice-O-Matic UCG
  • Ice-O-Matic Elevation, Follett Symphony Plus and Maestro Plus
  • Ice storage bins, transport carts and bagging systems
  • Ice and water dispensers for hotels, hospitals and cafeterias
  • Remote condensers and remote-condensing units for hot kitchens
  • Water filtration, softeners and antimicrobial systems
  • Combination ice and beverage dispensers for quick service
  • Installation, plumbing, drain and electrical
  • Multi-unit orders for hotels, hospitals and restaurant groups

Why lease it

01

Replace it this week, not next quarter

An ice machine that dies in summer costs the bar its busiest nights. Approval on the application and payment to the dealer on delivery gets a new machine installed while the old one is being hauled away, with the cost spread over the years it will run.

02

Lease the machine instead of renting it

Ice machine rental programmes charge every month forever and the machine is never yours. A lease has a fixed term, a lower monthly payment for a comparable machine, and an end where you own it for $1 or return it and upgrade.

03

Deduct it in the year it is installed

Commercial ice machines, bins and dispensers are Section 179 property. Buy on a $1 buyout lease or an equipment finance agreement and the whole installation can be expensed in the year it goes into service, subject to your own tax position and your CPA's advice.

Questions operators ask before leasing an ice machine

Can I lease a commercial ice machine for a restaurant or a bar?

Yes. Commercial ice machine leasing from American Capital Group covers Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Scotsman, Ice-O-Matic and Follett cube, nugget and flake ice makers, bins, dispensers and filtration for restaurants, bars, hotels, hospitals, convenience stores, grocers and seafood processors. Most machines are approved on an application alone, with no financial statements up to $150,000.

How much does it cost to lease an ice maker?

The payment depends on the machine, the bin, the installation, the term and the end of term option you choose. An undercounter unit on a three year lease is a different agreement from a thousand pound modular head with a remote condenser and a dispenser on five years, so send the dealer's quote through the form on this page and we return real numbers, usually the same business day.

Is leasing an ice machine better than an ice machine rental program?

For most operators, yes. A rental programme charges indefinitely and the machine never becomes yours. A lease runs for a fixed term with a fixed payment, ends with ownership for $1 or a return and upgrade, and the lease payment on a comparable machine is usually lower than the rental charge.

Can a new restaurant finance its ice machine before it opens?

Yes. A restaurant or bar under construction can finance the ice machine, bin and filtration against the owner's credit and the business plan, and the machine can share a lease with the refrigeration and the cooking line. We fund new restaurants every month.
