SALON & BARBERSHOP EQUIPMENT

Salon, barbershop and spa equipment financing

A salon is furnished before it earns a dollar. Styling stations, chairs, shampoo units, dryers and a reception desk have to be in place on opening day, and the stylists who rent the chairs start paying only when they are in. Financing the buildout turns that opening cost into a payment the chair rent and the bookings cover.

What we finance

New or used, from any vendor, dealer or auction. Named manufacturers are examples of what this covers, not a limit — if what you need is not on this list, ask.

  • Styling chairs and stations — Takara Belmont, Belvedere, Collins, Pibbs, Minerva
  • Barber chairs — Takara Belmont Apollo and Elegance, Belvedere, Collins, Koken-style
  • Shampoo units, backwash systems and shampoo chairs
  • Hood dryers, processors and colour bars
  • Pedicure spa chairs — Lexor, Gulfstream, Whale Spa, Continuum
  • Manicure tables, nail dryers and ventilation
  • Facial beds, spa treatment tables and steamers
  • Reception desks, retail displays and waiting furniture
  • Salon suite buildouts with stations, sinks and mirrors
  • Point-of-sale, booking software and tablets
  • Laundry, towel warmers and sterilisation equipment
  • Second locations and multi-chair expansions

Why lease it

01

Open with every chair filled and furnished

A salon that opens with six stations of eight furnished loses two renters. One lease covers every station, chair, sink and dryer, so the salon opens full and the payment is spread across the stylists who rent the chairs.

02

A payment that chair rent covers

Salon furniture lasts for years and the chairs earn by the week. A three to five year lease keeps the monthly payment in line with a few chairs' rent, and the rest of the salon's income is the owner's.

03

Deduct the salon the year it opens

Salon chairs, stations, shampoo units and spa equipment are Section 179 property. Buy on a $1 buyout lease or an equipment finance agreement and the whole buildout can be expensed in the year the salon opens, subject to your own tax position and your CPA's advice.

Questions salon owners ask before financing equipment

Can I finance the equipment for a new salon or barbershop?

Yes. Salon equipment financing from American Capital Group covers styling chairs and stations, barber chairs, shampoo units, dryers, pedicure spa chairs, facial beds, reception furniture and the software that runs the front desk, for hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, day spas and salon suite buildings. Most buildouts are approved on an application alone, with no financial statements up to $150,000.

How much does it cost to lease salon chairs and stations?

The payment depends on the package, the term and the end of term option you choose. Four barber chairs on a three year lease is a very different agreement from a twelve-station salon with shampoo units, dryers and a pedicure row on five years, so send the vendor's quote through the form on this page and we return real numbers, usually the same business day.

Can a stylist opening a first salon get equipment financing?

Yes. A stylist or a barber leaving a chair rental to open a shop can finance the buildout against personal credit, trade experience and the clientele that follows them. We fund new salons and barbershops every month, and the first payment can be timed to the opening date.

Can I finance pedicure spa chairs and nail salon equipment?

Yes. Pedicure spa chairs, manicure tables, ventilation and nail dryers qualify on their own or as part of a full salon, and a nail salon's furniture, reception and software can share one lease. One agreement, one payment and one delivery date for the whole salon.
