TOW TRUCKS & WRECKERS

Tow truck financing and leasing

A tow truck is a business, not a purchase — the truck is the whole company on day one. We finance rollback carriers, wheel-lift and integrated wreckers, self-loaders and heavy rotators, new or used, including first trucks for operators starting a towing company and additional units for shops adding a recovery division.

What we finance

New or used, from any vendor, dealer or auction. Named manufacturers are examples of what this covers, not a limit — if what you need is not on this list, ask.

  • Rollback and flatbed carriers — Jerr-Dan 6-ton, Century 12 Series, Chevron LCG
  • Wheel-lift wreckers — Dynamic 601, Vulcan 810, Century 411
  • Integrated wreckers — Century 3212, Jerr-Dan MPL-NGS
  • Heavy-duty rotators — Century 1075R and 1140, NRC 40TR and 65TR
  • Light-duty chassis — Ford F-550 and F-600, Ram 5500, Chevrolet 6500HD
  • Medium and heavy chassis — Freightliner M2 Extreme, Peterbilt 337, Kenworth T280
  • Repo trucks and self-loaders — Dynamic Detachable, Steck slide-in units
  • Landoll and detachable lowbed trailers for equipment recovery
  • Winches, dollies, straps, wheel lifts and recovery kits
  • LED light bars, cameras, dispatch and impound lot equipment

Why lease it

01

The truck starts earning on call one

A wrecker on a rotation list bills from the first night it is in service. Financing lines the payment up with the calls rather than with a savings plan that keeps you off the list another year.

02

Add the second truck sooner

One truck means turning down calls whenever it is already hooked up. Financing the second unit against the work the first one already books is how most fleets get past that ceiling.

03

Chassis and body from two suppliers

The chassis comes from a truck dealer and the bed from an installer. Both go on one lease, so the completed truck is one payment rather than two loans and a gap in between.

Tow truck financing questions

How do I finance a tow truck to start a towing company?

A first tow truck is financed largely on the owner's experience, the contracts or rotation work lined up and a down payment, rather than on a trading history the company does not have yet. Applying is worth doing before assuming a startup cannot be funded.

Can you finance a used tow truck or wrecker?

Yes. Used rollbacks, wreckers and self-loaders are financed routinely from dealers, auctions and private sellers. Body condition, mileage and the age of the wrecker body all affect the term that can be written.

Do you finance heavy-duty rotators?

Yes. Heavy recovery units including Century 1075R and 1140 class rotators and NRC heavy wreckers are financed as single-unit transactions, usually against the recovery contracts and rotation work that justify the truck.

Can the chassis and the wrecker body go on one lease?

Yes. A cab and chassis from a truck dealer and a bed installed by a distributor are written into a single lease against both invoices, so the finished truck arrives on one payment.
