BALERS
Baler financing and leasing
A baler turns loose material into something that can be stacked, shipped and sold. Behind a store it turns a hauling bill for cardboard into bales a recycler pays for, in a recycling plant it sets how many tons leave the dock each shift, and in a hay field it decides how much of the crop is put up before the rain. Financing sets the cost of the machine against what each bale is worth.

Why lease it
01
The baler turns a hauling bill into a commodity
Loose cardboard costs money to haul away and baled cardboard is sold by the ton. For a store, a warehouse or a plant, a lease with a fixed monthly payment over three to five years is often met by the lower hauling bill and the bale revenue together.
02
Capacity when the material or the weather arrives
A recycling plant is limited by what its baler can put through in a shift, and a hay crop by what can be baled in the dry days after cutting. Financing lets the operator buy the capacity the tonnage calls for, not the size the cash on hand allows.
03
Deduct the baler the year it is delivered
Balers, conveyors and hay equipment are Section 179 property. Buy on a $1 buyout lease or an equipment finance agreement and it can be expensed in the year it goes into service, subject to your own tax position and your CPA's advice.

Questions operators ask before financing a baler
Can I finance a cardboard baler or a recycling baler?
Yes. Baler financing from American Capital Group covers vertical cardboard balers, horizontal closed-door and auto-tie balers, two-ram balers, metal balers and conveyors, and round, small square and large square hay balers, new or used, for retailers, grocers, distribution centers, recyclers, scrap yards, farms and custom hay operators. Most balers are approved on an application alone, with no financial statements up to $150,000, and plant-size two-ram systems are quoted on a short financial package.
How much does it cost to lease a baler?
The payment depends on the baler, its age, the term and the end of term option you choose. A vertical cardboard baler on a three year lease is a very different agreement from a two-ram baler with a conveyor over seven years, so send the dealer's quote through the form on this page and we return real numbers, usually the same business day. Financing starts at $10,000 of equipment.
Can I finance a hay baler?
Yes. Round balers, small square balers and large square balers from John Deere, New Holland, Vermeer, Massey Ferguson, Krone and Case IH qualify, new or used, along with wrappers, accumulators and the tractor that pulls them. Annual, semi-annual and seasonal payment schedules are available for farming operations, and we pay the dealer or the seller directly.
Can I finance a used baler?
Yes. Used and reconditioned balers from a dealer, an auction or another operator qualify, subject to age, hours or bale count and condition. We pay the seller directly once the machine is inspected and the agreement is signed.
