GARBAGE & REFUSE TRUCKS
Garbage truck financing and leasing
A garbage truck is a route. Every stop on it is billed monthly under a contract or a subscription, and the truck that services those stops is one of the most expensive vehicles on the road. Financing lets a hauler add a route or replace a worn-out truck on a payment that the route's own billing covers.

Why lease it
01
The route pays for the truck
Residential subscriptions and commercial accounts are billed every month under contracts that run for years. A lease with a fixed monthly payment over five to seven years sets the cost of the truck against that route revenue, and a hauler can price a new contract knowing exactly what the truck costs.
02
Finance a specialized truck without a bank's questions
Banks struggle with a vehicle that is half truck and half hydraulic compactor. We know the body builders and the chassis, and approve the whole unit, chassis and body together, on one application.
03
Deduct the truck the year it is delivered
Garbage trucks and roll-off trucks are Section 179 property. Buy on a $1 buyout lease or an equipment finance agreement and it can be expensed in the year it goes into service, subject to your own tax position and your CPA's advice.

Questions haulers ask before financing a garbage truck
Can an independent hauler finance a garbage truck?
Yes. Garbage truck financing from American Capital Group covers Heil, McNeilus, Labrie, New Way and Pak-Mor rear loaders, front loaders, automated side loaders, roll-off and hook lift trucks and grapple trucks, new or used, for independent haulers, roll-off and dumpster rental companies, recyclers and private contractors serving municipalities. Smaller transactions are approved on an application alone, with no financial statements up to $150,000, and new trucks are quoted on a short financial package.
How much does it cost to lease a garbage truck?
The payment depends on the truck, its age, the term and the end of term option you choose. A used rear loader on a four year lease is a very different agreement from a new automated side loader on a low cab forward chassis over seven years, so send the dealer's quote through the form on this page and we return real numbers, usually the same business day.
Can I finance a used garbage truck?
Yes. Used and refurbished garbage trucks from a dealer, a fleet, an auction or another hauler qualify, subject to age, mileage, hours and the condition of the body and packer. We pay the seller directly once the truck is inspected and the agreement is signed.
Can a new hauling company finance its first truck?
Yes. An operator starting a hauling or roll-off company with customers or a contract in hand can finance the first truck against personal credit, industry experience and the contract. We fund start-up haulers regularly, and the first payment can be set after the truck is delivered and working.
