BUCKET TRUCKS
Bucket truck and aerial lift truck financing
A bucket truck is a crew and a ladder replaced by one vehicle that works at forty-five feet all day. Tree services, electricians, sign companies and telecom contractors all reach the same conclusion: the truck pays for itself in the jobs it makes possible. Financing it gets the truck on the road before the first of those jobs is invoiced.

Why lease it
01
Replace the rental with a payment
A tree service renting a lift for its bigger jobs turns them down when the rental yard is out. A leased bucket truck sits in the yard every morning, and the monthly payment is usually less than the rental invoices it replaces.
02
Finance the truck, the lift and the upfit as one
A bucket truck is a chassis, an aerial device, a body and an installation, often from three sellers. One lease pays all of them, so the finished truck arrives on one date and there is one payment for the whole vehicle.
03
Deduct the truck the year it goes to work
Bucket trucks and aerial devices are Section 179 property. Buy on a $1 buyout lease or an equipment finance agreement and the whole truck can be expensed in the year it goes into service, subject to your own tax position and your CPA's advice.

Questions contractors ask before financing a bucket truck
Can I finance a bucket truck for a tree service or an electrical contractor?
Yes. Bucket truck financing from American Capital Group covers Altec, Versalift, Terex and Dur-A-Lift aerial lift trucks, forestry units, sign trucks and digger derricks, new or used, for tree services, electrical and utility contractors, sign companies, telecom installers and property maintenance firms. Most trucks are approved on an application alone, with no financial statements up to $150,000.
How much does it cost to lease a bucket truck?
The payment depends on the truck, its age, the term and the end of term option you choose. A used 37 foot unit on a three year lease is a very different agreement from a new 60 foot insulated forestry truck on six years, so send the dealer's quote through the form on this page and we return real numbers, usually the same business day.
Can I finance a used bucket truck?
Yes. Used bucket trucks from a dealer, a utility fleet sale, an auction or a private seller qualify, subject to age, mileage, condition and a current dielectric and structural inspection. We pay the seller directly once the truck is inspected and the agreement is signed.
Can a new tree service or sign company get bucket truck financing?
Yes. A climber starting a tree service or an installer opening a sign company can finance the first bucket truck against personal credit, trade experience and the work already lined up. We fund start-up contractors regularly, and the first payment can follow the delivery date.
