OILFIELD & ENERGY SERVICES

Oilfield and oil and gas equipment financing

Oilfield service work is bought with equipment and paid on a net-60 invoice, which is exactly the gap financing exists to close. We finance oilfield equipment new or used, from any dealer, auction or private seller: a vac truck, a workover rig, a set of frac tanks or a spread of rental tools bought for one new contract. Transactions start at $10,000.

What we finance

New or used, from any vendor, dealer or auction. Named manufacturers are examples of what this covers, not a limit — if what you need is not on this list, ask.

  • Workover and well service rigs
  • Coiled tubing units, injectors and reels
  • Pressure pumping, cement and nitrogen units
  • Wireline and slickline trucks and units
  • Vacuum trucks, winch trucks and roustabout beds
  • Frac tanks, production tanks and tank batteries
  • Separators, heater treaters and wellsite production equipment
  • Mud pumps, centrifuges and solids control
  • Gas compression packages, gensets and light towers
  • Downhole tools, BOPs and rental tool inventory

Why lease it

01

The contract starts before the invoice clears

Service companies buy the spread, run the job and wait sixty days to be paid. Financing the equipment keeps working capital where it belongs, which is in payroll and fuel.

02

Used iron is the market

Most oilfield equipment changes hands used, at auction or between operators. Those purchases finance normally, with the term matched to the age of the unit.

03

Scale up for one contract

A new take-away contract can need three more trucks next month. Financing turns that into a payment the contract itself covers instead of a reason to pass on the work.

Oil and gas equipment financing by type

Workover and well service rigs

Workover rigs, swab rigs and pulling units, with the pipe racks, catwalks and support trucks that go with them. Rig-up can be helped by a boom truck; see crane financing.

Drilling equipment

Mud pumps, solids control, centrifuges and the air packages behind them. For rotary screw and towable units, see air compressor financing.

Vac trucks and water trucks

Vacuum trucks, water trucks and winch trucks, financed with the tank, pump and upfit in the same amount. More on vacuum truck financing.

Frac tanks and fluid hauling

Frac tanks, production tanks and tank batteries, plus the trailers that haul crude, produced water and frac fluid. See tank trailer financing.

Roustabout and hot shot trucks

Roustabout bed trucks, heavy-duty pickups and gooseneck or flatbed trailers for hot shot hauling, financed together on one agreement. For tractors and larger trailers, see semi truck financing and trailer financing.

Pressure washers and wash systems

Trailer-mounted and skid-mounted hot water and steam systems for rig and tank cleaning. A single pressure washer under $10,000 does not qualify on its own. Several units, or a washer bundled with a truck or other equipment totalling $10,000 or more, does.

Power, compression and light towers

Gas compression packages, gensets and light towers for remote sites. See generator financing.

Rental tools, BOPs and downhole tools

Downhole tools, BOPs and rental inventory bought to service a contract are financed as equipment, including additions to a fleet you already own.

What sets the payment on oilfield equipment

Four things decide the monthly number. To see a range before you talk to anyone, use the equipment lease calculator.

The whole cost of the spread

The equipment plus freight, upfit and rig-up. Those soft costs can be included in the amount financed, which makes it larger but keeps that cash for payroll and fuel.

The term

Usually 24 to 60 months. A longer term lowers the payment. On used equipment the term is matched to the age of the unit.

The end-of-term option

A fair market value lease has a lower payment and lets you return or upgrade. A $1 buyout lease or an equipment finance agreement costs more each month, and you own the equipment at the end.

The business behind it

Time in business, credit history and the size of the transaction. Up to $150,000 is usually decided on a one-page application without financial statements. Startups are considered, based mainly on the owner's personal credit and industry experience.

Oilfield equipment financing questions

What equipment financing is available for oilfield companies?

Workover rigs, coiled tubing and pressure pumping units, wireline trucks, vac trucks, water trucks and winch trucks, frac tanks and separators, compression packages, hot shot rigs and rental tool inventory, new or used. Transactions start at $10,000.

Do you offer oil and gas equipment leasing?

Yes. Oil and gas service companies lease or finance equipment over terms of 24 to 60 months. The end-of-term option is chosen up front: a $1 buyout lease, a fair market value lease or an equipment finance agreement. Your accountant should confirm the tax treatment.

Can I lease drilling equipment?

Yes. Mud pumps, solids control equipment, compressors, generators and the trucks that move them are financed new or used, and freight and rig-up costs can be included in the amount financed. Up to $150,000 is usually decided on a one-page application without financial statements.

Do you finance used oilfield equipment bought at auction?

Yes. Auction and private-party purchases are normal in this market and finance the same way as a dealer purchase. We pay the seller directly, and the term is matched to the age of the unit.

Can I finance a vac truck or water truck for oilfield work?

Yes. Vacuum trucks, water trucks and winch trucks are financed new or used, with the tank, pump and upfit in the same amount. Several trucks for one contract can go on one agreement.

Can I finance a hot shot truck and trailer?

Yes. A heavy-duty pickup and a gooseneck or flatbed trailer for hot shot hauling can be financed together on one agreement, new or used. Startups are considered, based mainly on the owner's personal credit and industry experience.

Can I finance a pressure washer for oilfield work?

A single pressure washer that costs under $10,000 does not qualify on its own. A trailer-mounted or skid-mounted wash system, several units, or a washer bundled with a truck or other equipment that totals $10,000 or more does.

How fast can oilfield services financing be approved?

Quotes usually come back the same business day, and most decisions come back the same day on a one-page application, which matters when a contract start date is the reason for the purchase. Transactions start at $10,000.

Know what you need?

An application takes a few minutes and most decisions come back the same day. If you would rather see a payment first, the calculator gives you a range without asking for anything.
